South Downs Local Access Forum

Information

South Downs Local Access Forum

The South Downs Local Access Forum (SDLAF) is a group of 16 members appointed by the South Downs National Park Authority to give advice on how best to provide access to the countryside.  Their main function is to look at how the public rights of way network and access land is managed and improved.  Forum members will also be asked to comment on broader access, transport and countryside subjects.

A Local Access Forum is a statutory body and, by law, organisations must have regard to advice that it gives.

The South Downs Local Access Forum has a range of members that reflect the views of both land managers and recreational users of the countryside.

This online group exists in order that LAF members can continue discussions after and in between meetings. We also hope that these discussions are of interest to the wider South Downs community, so if you have any comments or questions about our topics of discussion, please start a discussion thread in the main forum.

If you want to contact any of the SDLAF members please do so through the messaging function. You can also contact the LAF Secretary, Tim Squire, who is the Rights of Way and Access Officer at the South Downs National Park Authority. Email: tim.squire@southdowns.gov.uk

I hope LAF members will take the opportunity to do the 5 minute survey about our LSTF bid. Open until Monday 12th, the survey is testing some of the project ideas around the bid themes. We hope to have a final draft of the bid available by the end of December.
